OVER LOOK was a powerful show that dove into the lack of education and exposure I had to female artists from early ages of study into my thirties.  The reason for the portrait drawings was very simple and straightforward.  Once I had learned of Artemisia Gentileschi and started researching her and her work, I would come upon more female artists. Each time I did, I would do a drawing and put them all in a folder in my desk, just gathering the many names one by one.  There was nothing organized about it, all random encounters and the amount of artists unfolded at an alarming pace, so many names I didn’t know.  I could have continued but I only stopped because my show was installed.
