Cake in the Club : A performance ( ~7 minutes) A Process of orientation through the senses. Collaboration with Morgan Bolling, performed for Black Cube Nomadic Museum The Cake functions as both prop and prosthesis, extending the performers bodies, forming bridges and providing a shared substance on our surfaces and the surface of the club. The Cake is a friend and the Cake is the friends. The Cake itself, once activated by the performers, causes a response whether physical or otherwise. The Cake causes sensory responses and connections. The Cake is the vessel for the performance - the Cake is the body, a body in a safe space, a body looking for pleasure. The Cake in the club is a catalyst for physical and social encounters.
